Twisted Traditions – Knitwear Collection

Emily Platt lives in Milton Keynes and is in her final year at Derby University where she has been studying fashion.

She has created an incredible collection and she hopes her work will get people interested in knitting and creating their own garments. Check out her photoshoot at http://www.facebook.com/lostinknit.  Its great to see fresh, modern designs using traditional skills and colours.

The collection is called Twisted Traditions and is inspired by traditional dress from around the world which has been transformed into knitwear pieces. She has taken features from countries such as Scandinavia, Sweden, Russia, and many more and used them to create fair isle designs and shapes to create a unique collection.

Her aim with this collection was to create a complete knitwear range and she is now working towards designing hand knit pieces completely different to anything else on the high street.

If you would like to get in touch with Emily, email info@localcraftmatters.co.uk  and we will pass on your message.

We hope Emily achieves the success she clearly deserves!
