It’s that time of year again – The Festival of Quilts is on at the NEC in Birmingham from 17th -19th August.
This event is organised by Twisted Thread, with the support of the Quilters Guild of the British Isles, and has earned a reputation over the past nine years as the largest, most inspiring quilting event in Europe.
The Festival of Quilts is not just an exhibition. There are gallery exhibitions from leading international artists and groups and a huge range of patchwork & quilting supplies under one roof – with over 250 companies selling unique, hard-to-find patchwork and quilting supplies!
There is also The Quilt Academy with a stunning programme of nearly 100 masterclasses, workshops and lectures, and the Quick & Easy workshops provide another 154 sessions aimed at beginners.
If you have enough energy left after gazing in wonder at the exhibitions and trawling around the stands, the fun continues in the evening with some fabulous entertainment; a Bollywood night, fashion shows, Shakespeare, a cruise on the Avon – lots to choose from. There’s so much to do you’ll leave buzzing with ideas and inspiration!
This is my favourite exhibition every year. We’ll be there on 17th – hope to see you too!
